Centerfield To Host First Competitive Hitting Tournament for Southern Arizona Youth
Tucson, Arizona - September 28, 2010
Centerfield Academy will host the first-ever indoor competitive hitting tournament for Southern Arizona youth on October 16th (baseball players) and October 23rd (softball players) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Centerfield facility, located in Tucson, Arizona. Both events will feature six divisions: 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U, and 15 and up. Players must register by October 14th either as a team of four people or as individuals. The cost is $15 per person for pre-registration and $20 per person after October 7th. Participants have a chance to win over $500 in team and individual prizes, including a $200 scholarship for use at Centerfield.

NAISA President Robert Warrior Announces Forum with Congressman Grijalva to talk about Impact of Arizona's Anti-Ethnic Studies Law

The Native American and Indigenous Studies Association (NAISA) announced today that Rep. Raul Grijalva, serving Arizona's 7th Congressional District, is scheduled to talk with members on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 12:00PM. Media is invited to cover the event. "We wanted to create a platform where members could examine the deep-rooted issues that led to the creation of such a discriminating and oppressive law that threatens academic freedom," said NAISA President and Director of American Indian Studies at the University of Illinois Robert Warrior.

Early Voter Mobilization All Night Countdown To 2010 Election

Hundreds of voters will begin lining up Wednesday evening, October 6th, to be the 1st voters in Pima County to cast their vote for change. The Latino Early Voter Initiative, LEVI, in coordination with One Arizona and Arizona United for All People, have come together to encourage those who are upset and disappointed about what has been happening in Arizona to VOTE.
